Family-owned fruit and produce farm with on-farm barn markets, an orchard kitchen, and seasonal farm park experiences.
Murray Family Farms is a family-owned and operated farm that grows organic produce and a wide range of specialty fruits, all picked at optimum ripeness. The farm is known for cherries, blueberries, candy grapes, watermelon, elderberries, Buddha's Hand citron, and other rare and seasonal varieties. Produce is sold through on-farm barn markets, including the Little Purple Barn and the Big Red Barn, as well as at farmers markets across California. The Cal-Okie Orchard Kitchen, located on the farm itself, serves comfort food made from farm-grown ingredients and is home to the Okie Pie. Murray Family Farms also hosts a seasonal pumpkin patch, farm park, U-pick experiences, and school tours. Learn more on their About Page.
Murray Family Farms grows its produce organically, with picking at peak ripeness described as the cornerstone of its organic approach. The farm also practices regenerative agriculture, a holistic method focused on rebuilding soil health and enhancing biodiversity. Specific practices include minimizing soil disturbance, using cover crops and crop rotation, and reducing or eliminating synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. Each growing season, the farm amends its soil with hundreds of thousands of pounds of natural composted organic matter. The stated goal of regenerative farming at Murray Family Farms is to pass the land on in the same or better condition than when the family started farming it.
