Mohala Farms is a 6-acre organic farm and non-profit organization in Waialua on the North Shore of O'ahu. Since 2005, the farm has been building its infrastructure and revitalizing the soil, with commercial organic produce sales beginning in 2009. Mohala Farms offers a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) weekly produce subscription in two share sizes, with pick-up options on the North Shore and in Honolulu. Produce is also available through online ordering and farmers markets. Beyond growing food, the farm operates as a place of learning, advocacy, and service, hosting educational visits, events, farm-to-table dinners, and catering. Mohala Farms grows all of its produce using organic practices, stating that all produce is 100% organic and that its practices comply with and exceed federal organic standards. The farm's approach centers on continuous soil regeneration and biological diversity, achieved through cover crops, large-scale composting, crop rotations, worm bins, vermicast foliar sprays, natural and organic pest repellants, and beekeeping. The farm also pursues ongoing trials of adaptable, disease-resistant food crop varieties. Current crops include multiple varieties of kale, collard greens, swiss chard, arugula, lettuces and specialty greens, tatsoi, green beans, turnips, radishes, taro, cucumbers, tomatoes, okra, herbs, and fruits including lilikoi, banana, papaya, and avocado.
