Seventh-generation Jersey dairy farm producing farmstead cheeses, pasture-raised beef, and cave-aged artisan cheese.
Marcoot Jersey Creamery is a seventh-generation family-owned Jersey dairy farm that began making cheese in March 2010. The farm is owned and operated by sisters Amy and Beth Marcoot, whose family's roots in Jersey cattle farming trace back to the mid-1800s. The creamery produces artisan and farmstead cheeses made from the milk of its own registered Jersey cows, along with pasture-raised beef from Jersey steers and American Wagyu (a Wagyu/Jersey cross). Additional products include Dog-O's Cheesy Chompers, dried cheese treats made for dogs, and a line of cheese gift boxes. Visitors can tour the farm and creamery, view cheesemaking through observation windows, and shop at the on-site country store. Learn more on their About Page.
Marcoot Jersey Creamery's cheese is made from the milk of its own registered Jersey cows, raised primarily on a diet of nutrient-rich grasses with no artificial hormones. All cheeses are aged in an underground cave modeled after traditional Swiss cheese caves, which the farm describes as providing a natural aging environment while supporting energy efficiency. The farm also raises pasture-raised Jersey and American Wagyu beef on-site; those cattle are hormone-free and antibiotic-free, supplemented with a balanced grain ration. Sustainability is stated as a guiding value across herd management and cheese production. The farm also produces A2/A2 milk-based cheeses, sourced from its own Jersey herd.
