Liberty Prairie is a nonprofit organic farm founded in 1994 in Grayslake, Illinois, with more than 30 years of work strengthening the local food system and caring for the natural landscape. It operates as a component of the Liberty Prairie Reserve, a protected open-space sanctuary of over 3,300 acres, and serves as the only local, organic farm within that reserve. The farm offers seasonal CSA shares of vegetables, fruit, and eggs, along with a Farm Store stocked with its own produce and goods from regional partner farms. Liberty Prairie grows its produce organically and lists itself as an organic grower among Farm Store partners. The Farm Store carries seasonal food from Liberty Prairie's own fields alongside products sourced from local and sustainable farms within 300 miles. Store inventory shifts with seasonal harvests, with restocks on Wednesdays and Fridays. The store accepts SNAP/EBT, Link Match vouchers, and Senior and WIC FMNP program checks. CSA members receive weekly newsletters with information on what was grown, where it came from, storage tips, and recipes, as well as invitations to a members-only seasonal U-pick event at the farm.
