Jessica's Organic Farm is one of the original organic growers in Florida, farming a five-acre property in Sarasota since 1979. It began as a strawberry u-pick and has grown into a farm and onsite market offering a wide variety of organic produce. The market is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with pickup and delivery also available. In addition to its own harvests, the farm sources supplemental items from other farms. Wholesale pricing is available to restaurants and co-ops. The farm has a long history of giving back, including donating produce to the local food bank and providing starter plants to public schools. Jessica's Organic Farm is Certified Organic on its five-acre property, certified by QCS (Quality Certification Services). Its growing season runs from September through June. The farm states that nearly everything sold at the market, whether grown on-site or sourced from other farms, is Certified Organic, grown using organic methods, or made with organic ingredients. The farm states its organic produce contains no genetically modified organisms, pesticides, or synthetic fertilizers. Its dairy carries no antibiotics or hormones. The farm offers local, grass-fed raw milk (sourced from Myakka City and sold as pet food per Florida regulations) and eggs from Amish pasture-raised hens. During harvest season, produce is picked on market days and made available for sale within hours of being harvested.
