Biodynamic family farm offering a seasonal vegetable CSA and farmers market produce.
Homegrown Farm is a biodynamic family farm established in 2007 and run by Mike and Emily Jensen in Bayfield, Colorado. The farm grows a wide variety of vegetables across a short, high-altitude season at 7,000 feet. Its primary offering is a seasonal CSA program, delivering weekly shares of farm-grown produce from mid-June through the end of September. Shares are picked up market-style directly at the farm, where members can meet the farmers and fellow members. Produce is also available at the Durango Farmers Market and through Pine River Shares. The farm additionally offers a volunteer work-trade option in exchange for a CSA share.
Homegrown Farm practices biodynamic farming. The farm focuses on growing as much vegetable variety as possible within its high-altitude growing season, and describes its approach as regenerating the land over time. CSA shares are built around a signature salad mix or lettuce and sweet carrots each week, rounded out with whatever is thriving in the field across early, mid, and late season. The farm operates a donate-share-free bin at weekly pickups, allowing members to leave or take extra produce. Members receive a weekly email with share contents, storage tips, and recipe ideas.
