Heritage Lane Farms raises whole free-range roasting chickens on its farm in Manitoba. The birds are sold whole (no separate parts) to retail outlets, restaurants, and individual customers. Fresh chickens are processed and available weekly for delivery or farm pickup, and frozen birds are available at the farm year-round. Delivery is offered within Winnipeg and Steinbach for orders of ten or more birds. Greg and Jules Plett, the current owners, took over the farm and have continued its focus on clean, locally raised chicken.
Heritage Lane Farms feeds its birds a special grain blend sourced from a local mill that is free of antibiotics and animal by-products. Chickens are raised in a free-range, low-stress environment with no overcrowding: they roam outside when weather permits and have barn access during cold Manitoba winters. Every bird is inspected by the Manitoba Agriculture Inspection Agency before it reaches consumers.
