Harvest Partners and Maple Valley Farm is a family farm just northwest of Bloomington, Indiana, that raises grass-fed beef, lamb, and goat alongside pasture-raised pork, chicken, turkey, and eggs. The farm operates on a livestock partnership model: members own a share of the animals, choose their butcher specifications, and pick up their meat directly at the farm. Partnership tiers offer varying annual quantities of chicken, beef, pork, turkey, lamb, and eggs, with poultry available weekly through the season. Harvest Partners and Maple Valley Farm uses mob stocking and high-density rotational grazing, moving cattle, sheep, goats, and meat chickens to fresh pasture daily; laying hens, turkeys, and pigs are rotated every seven to twelve days. Herbivores (cattle, sheep, and goats) eat pasture only and receive no grain, antibiotics, vaccines, or pharmaceuticals. Pigs are moved to wooded areas of the farm as soon as they are large enough, and breeding pigs are kept in composting deep-bedding areas; all omnivores are supplemented with non-GMO roasted grains and minerals and are also pharma-free. The farm runs multi-species herds of cattle, sheep, and goats together to reduce overall parasite load, and follows grazing herds with chickens to work manure into the soil. Poultry is butchered on the farm without chlorine baths, electrical shock, or saline injections, and partners are welcome to observe or participate in any slaughter or butchering of their animals.
