Gehrke Grass-Fed Beef

Gehrke Grass-Fed Beef raises approximately 36 steers at a time on 36 acres of managed pasture. The farm uses intensive daily rotational grazing during summer months, moving cattle to fresh pasture every day and allowing grazed land to rest and recover. This approach lets the farm produce both its beef and its hay supply from the same acreage. The farm has worked with multiple breeds over time, including Belted Galloways and American breeds such as Angus crossbreds and Charolais, selecting breeds suited to each stage of the farm's pasture development. Soil health is treated as a core priority: the farm describes itself as forage-first, with cattle serving as the beneficiaries of healthy, well-managed ground.
