Overview
A 26-acre USDA Organic certified farm and farm market growing seasonal produce, microgreens, and more in Parrish, FL.
Gamble Creek Farms is a 26-acre certified organic farm and farm market in Parrish, Florida, operated under the Chiles Group family of businesses. The property was an orange grove for over 40 years before Chiles Group began leasing it in 2013 with the goal of supplying local restaurants and residents with fresh produce. The farm was purchased outright in 2021. Its on-site market carries seasonal produce, microgreens, deli sandwiches, and specialty items including Browne Trading Co. seafood available for pre-order. The farm also hosts tours and events, including school field trips. Learn more on their About Page.
Gamble Creek Farms holds USDA Organic, Florida Organic Growers, and Quality Certification Services certifications, plus Real Organic Certified. Its farm market building has LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The farm runs a circular economy: restaurant food trimmings and waste are composted on-site with mulch and worm castings (vermicomposting) and returned to the soil as growing medium. A biodigester converts food waste into biogas that runs a generator, with excess gas used for cooking. The farm also uses biochar, Korean natural farming fish amino acid fertilizer made from fish waste and brown sugar, and solar panels. Shellfish shells from restaurant kitchens are repurposed as fertilizer and building materials for permeable walkways. The farm is registered as Fresh From Florida with the Florida Department of Agriculture and is certified as a Brain Health Initiative Community Leader.
