Escarpment Gardens is a 10-acre herbal tea farm in Mono, Ontario. The farm grows, sustainably wild harvests, and sources herbs, fruits, and trees to produce a range of single-ingredient herbal teas and multi-herb blends. Its catalogue spans more than 50 varieties, including single botanicals such as chamomile, echinacea, and chaga, as well as named blends like Chaga Chai, Apple Spice, and Ginger Turmeric. Each box contains 16 unbleached, biodegradable, plastic-free tea bags, and the teas are made without added flavours, colours, or scents. Teas are available for farm-gate pickup, through an online shop, and at select farmers markets and retail locations across Ontario.
Ingredients grown on the Escarpment Gardens farm carry Certified Naturally Grown (CNG) status, a third-party certification the farm has held since February 2019. The farm uses natural meadow and forest garden growing methods and avoids synthetic chemicals and GMOs, describing its approach as letting the natural rhythm of nature do the work as much as possible. All herbal tea ingredients are stated to be either organically grown, sustainably wild harvested, or Certified Naturally Grown. Tea bags are unbleached, biodegradable, non-GMO, and plastic-free. Escarpment Gardens is a member of the National Farmers Union, Ontario.
