U-pick blueberry and blackberry farm offering pre-picked berries, preserves, and farm-made pantry goods.
Buffalo Creek Berry Farm is a 23-acre you-pick berry farm established in 2005 and taken over in 2017 by husband-wife farmers Cameron Phillips and Laura Pallas. The farm grows blueberries across more than 2,500 bushes in multiple Rabbiteye varieties, along with blackberries, mulberries, and elderberries. Visitors can pick their own fruit during the summer season or order berries pre-picked for farm pickup. Beyond fresh fruit, the farm produces small-batch preserves, raw berry cider vinegars, elderberry and ginger syrups, pickles, hot sauce, and fresh eggs. Laura holds a PhD in food science with a focus on Georgia blueberries, and Cameron brings a background in agriculture and biodynamic farming from Australia. The farm also hosts fermented food and kombucha workshops. Learn more on their About Page.
Buffalo Creek Berry Farm holds Certified Naturally Grown status and does not spray its berries with synthetic pesticides or herbicides. The farm uses OMRI-approved organic soil and plant amendments, worm castings, and leaf tissue analysis to guide plant nutrition. Preserves are made with the farm's own berries plus organic cane sugar and organic lemons. The farm aims toward certified organic and, longer term, Demeter biodynamic certification, with an emphasis on natural inputs and soil biology. Cameron's family background includes Demeter biodynamic farming in Australia, begun in 1991.
