Pasture-raised pork, goat, and eggs from a certified Animal Welfare Approved farm in Connecticut's Quiet Corner.
BOTL Farm is a first-generation, pasture-based livestock farm situated on 41 acres of silvopasture in northeast Connecticut. It raises heritage breed pigs, goats, and laying hens, along with keeping bees. Founded by Nick Weinstock and Danielle Larese, who began farming in 2015 and moved to their Ashford land in late 2016, the farm operates as a birth-to-slaughter operation: breeding stock produce all market animals, which breed on natural cycles, birth unassisted on pasture, and raise their young in familial groups. Products include pork, goat meat, eggs, raw bones and hides, organic animal feed, and honey. Learn more on their About Page.
All animals at BOTL Farm are certified Animal Welfare Approved by A Greener World, and the goats are additionally Certified Grassfed by A Greener World. Pigs and laying hens are fed a soy-free, corn-free, non-GMO, certified organic feed; the goats are grass fed and grass finished. Animals live on pasture year-round and are never confined to barns. The farm uses intensively managed rotational grazing across 43 paddocks within a 20-acre perimeter of pasture and transitional silvopasture, rotating groups of pigs, goats, and chickens in sequence to build soil health and improve land fertility. Heritage breeds are selected specifically for their ability to thrive in the New England climate and to birth unassisted on pasture.
