Family-run farm stand and CSA offering seasonal vegetables, fruits, herbs, and honey grown with organic methods.
Bilbrey Family Farm is a family-run farm in Auburndale, Florida, founded in September 2012 by Rodger and Carol Bilbrey. Rodger brings more than 43 years of experience in agriculture and horticulture, including years as a farm manager and grower at a certified organic operation. The farm operates a seasonal farm stand open to the public and a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program. CSA members receive weekly or every-other-week shares of 6 to 7 items, including vegetables, fruits, and herbs, picked up directly at the farm during the growing season. The farm also produces Wildflower and Orange Blossom Honey, available at the stand or by appointment. Farm tours are offered by appointment. Learn more on their About Page.
Bilbrey Family Farm grows its produce using organic growing methods and follows the USDA's National Organic Program rules and regulations, meaning no harmful chemicals are sprayed on crops. All vegetables and herbs are grown from seed that is neither genetically modified nor treated. Produce is harvested at peak ripeness, primarily on the day of farm stand opening or CSA pick-up, to preserve flavor and nutritional quality. All contents of CSA shares are grown directly on the farm; when needed for greater variety, the farm occasionally sources additional produce from other organic farms. Some fruits, such as watermelon, are grown in limited quantities, and certain fruit items may be subcontracted to other local, family-run farms that use the same growing methods.
