Fifth-generation family farm stand selling meats, eggs, milk, and locally sourced pantry goods.
Balance Rock Farm is a fifth-generation family farm in operation since the 1800s, now run by Shane and Lynette Wheeler. The farm stand carries grass-fed beef and veal, grass-fed lamb, chicken, pork, wild-caught Alaskan salmon, farm-fresh eggs, and milk in glass bottles. Alongside its own raised meats and eggs, the stand stocks locally sourced cheeses, ice cream, raw honey, maple syrup, jams, jellies, coffee, tea, and cocoa. Home gardeners and landscapers can also pick up compost, manure, and loam from the farm. The property encompasses 140 acres of pasture and hay land.
Balance Rock Farm has not used commercial fertilizers, pesticides, or hormones in production since 1983. The farm raises its own meats and eggs on-site and sources additional products from local producers. Beef, veal, and lamb are grass-fed. Salmon carried by the farm stand is wild-caught Alaskan. Compost and manure are sourced directly from the farm's own animals.
