Legend-Dairy is a grass-fed dairy farm in Princeville, Hawaii, producing fresh dairy products through a herdshare program for the local community. The farm has been operating on Kauai since 2011, beginning with a single Jersey cow named Sugar at a pasture in Kealia Valley. Over the years, the herd grew to include an A2/A2 Guernsey show cow and a Brown Swiss bull. Legend-Dairy has since crossed and selectively bred those three original lines, Jersey, Guernsey, and Brown Swiss, to develop genetics adapted specifically to Hawaii's climate and local grasses.
Legend-Dairy raises its herd on 100% grass-fed, rotationally grazed pasture. Through selective breeding across its Jersey, Guernsey, and Brown Swiss lines, the farm has developed a herd it describes as 100% vaccine free. Rotational grazing is a stated core practice, and all dairy products are produced through the farm's herdshare program rather than through commercial retail channels.
