BA Angus & Agriculture raises Aberdeen Angus cattle exclusively on grass, finishing on grass with hay supplemented as needed and no grains. The farm purposely selects heritage and heirloom breeds for its cattle, chickens, and turkeys, and plants heirloom or heritage vegetable varieties; hybrid varieties are evaluated for their effects on the natural organism and product quality. The farm does not grow or raise genetically modified organisms of any kind. In the gardens, beneficial insects serve as the primary defense against pests, supported by weed fabrics and specialized blends of compost and manures produced on the property. The farm describes its approach as producing food free of pesticides, preservatives, and contaminants, applying principles consistent with organic methods alongside its own developed techniques.
