Overview
Herb farm and herbal apothecary specializing in organic herbs and handmade herbal products for pregnancy, wellness, and beyond.
Mothering Herbs Farm is a family-owned herb farm and herbal products business founded in 2008 by a mother-daughter team in North-West Alabama. The farm is run by Summer Ware McCreless, a second-generation herbalist who grew up gardening and later trained in herbal education. Mothering Herbs produces organic herbal teas, balms, infused oils, sitz baths, tinctures, elderberry syrup, lip balm, and home and body sprays, with a particular focus on herbs for the pregnancy year and beyond. The business also offers consultations, workshops, herb walks, blessingways, and school and homeschool educational programs. A Community Supported Herbalism (CSH) subscription program provides regular shares of herbal products with pickup options in Florence and Huntsville. Learn more on their About Page.
Mothering Herbs Farm uses certified organic ingredients or wild-harvested herbs from its own farm in all products. The farm maintains an organic practices herb and vegetable garden, a forest garden, and wild harvests from its forests and fields. The business guarantees that herbs used in its products are less than one year old at the time of purchase. The farm also raises a small number of grass-fed cattle, Native horses, and a small flock of chickens alongside its herb production.
