Fifth-generation family beef farm raising natural beef cattle and breeding stock in Northwestern Ontario.
Cornell Farms is a fifth-generation, family-owned beef farm in the Rainy River District of Northwestern Ontario, with roots going back to 1897 when the original homestead was established. The farm produces and sells natural beef products direct to consumers, as well as beef breeding stock including herd sires, yearling bulls, two-year-old bulls, and females. Cornell Farms has been selling at local farmers' markets since 1996 and also offers an online ordering option with regional pick-up sites throughout Northwestern Ontario. In addition to beef, the farm hosts barn dances and concerts. In 2008, Cornell Farms received the Premier's Agri-Food Innovation Excellence Award.
Cornell Farms does not use fed antibiotics or growth implants in its animals, and relies only on natural grains and forages in their diet. The farm has been selling locally-produced natural beef products direct to consumers for over 40 years. Animals are raised with care as a core principle of the operation.
